Frequently Asked Question

What is DEN MEETINGS MADE EASY? Thanks to a donation for Development by Clayton Thebodeau, Den Meetings Made Easy is on it's 3rd year. This project is now a multi-council + multi- national project. Several Councils have partnered to supply additional support to the Den Leader. This is a grass root movement to support Den Leaders.
Your Council realizes that Den Leaders are very busy in today's world. We also realize that Den Meetings/Activities are critical for the development of our boys. Development for the kits is funded through a genorus donation by Clayton Thebodeau in honor of his Den Leader and Mother - Jisel Thebodeau. Shipping and direct material costs for your kit are funded by your local Council. Den Meetings Made Easy is a Value Added program in support of our Den Leaders.

What if I am a Webelos Leader? While there is not a Den Meeting Made Easy for you to utilize , you still have the traditional support designed to help you make Den Meetings exciting. First the program helps book is set up to walk you through your meetings. To obtain a copy and find other helpful books, contact the Scout Shop. Next the District Round Table has a break out for Cub Scouts that has a ton of ideas + projects that will make planning your meeting a snap. This is also a great place to ask questions. Finally if you run across any snags, your Cubmaster has contact with your Council Representative - The UNIT COMMISIONER - who will help your Pack run the best possible Pack and Den meetings.

Will they earn their Tiger, Wolf or Bear in time for our Blue and Gold?
Yes- Scouting should be a year round program focused on the Boy playing a game that teaches at the same time. To earn their Tiger, Wolf or Bear Award by Blue and Gold means that Dens will have to move quickly and focus on rank requirements. We realize the pressure from the Pack and families in many areas to hand out these awards at the Blue and Gold. If you follow our monthly program the Den will earn these ranks in February/March. This does not mean that Tigers/Wolves/Bears end in February. Actually we are just getting to the good parts. The Tiger/Wolf/Bear will work on fun projects and electives. This will get the boy ready to cross into the next rank in June.

History of Den Meeting Made Easy - Den Meeting Made Easy was a project that started in 2006 as Den Meetings in a Box Our concept was to provide everything (or almost everything) a busy Den Leader would need to run their program. A grant from the North East Region made it possible to provide about 50 Dens in Raritan Valley District with free monthly boxes. While there were many learning opportunities, the response to the project was very positive. We had a high satisfaction rating coupled with a higher then normal retention rating for that district. This program was shared with the National Cub Scout Division where soon after the National Supply Division rolled out their verision of Den Meetings is a Box.
In 2007 Patriots' Path Council received another grant from the Norht East Region to "plug-in " the program. The program rolled out as Den Meetings Made Easy. The program kit was available for all Tiger Dens the Council. On-line information was abailable for any leader. This included all documentation and a "how to" video and audio on this web site.
In 2008, several councils have teamed together to provide this support.
